Through the years, just seeing this book and having it out in the house means" Christmas is coming". I've had this book since way before I could even read. The date inside says "Christmas 1972" and I got it from my Grandma and Grandpa Witkovski (my Mom's parents). Sure, it's worn, been ripped and taped back together, and has pencil smiley faces still visible after trying to erase on each page. I remember writing those smiley faces each time I memorized a page of the book. At one time I had the entire thing memorized but now can only recite the first few pages. I always get stuck on the part that goes "The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below."
As you can see, this book now sits high on the mantle so little fingers and puppy teeth don't get to it.
DAY 340 - December 6, 2009
These little guys sit inside our front door on the component table. They light up and change colors and look really cute.
