Getting involved.

DAY 349 - December 15, 2009

Tonight was David Taylor's fundraiser. David is the IMPD Lieutenant running for Perry Township Constable and Doug is his chairman running the campaign. The fundraiser was a big success with a great turnout. Here is Doug with David on the right and his son Cameron on the left.

DAY 348 - December 14, 2009

Kaleb has been wanting to make a smoothie for a several days now. First, we didn't have any bananas; then we didn't have time for an involved snack like that. So, tonight was the night. He added bananas to milk and ice and put a little chocolate syrup in for good measure. As you can tell, he's pretty pleased with the outcome!

DAY 347 - December 13, 2009

This is one of my Christmas tree ornaments from when I was really little. I'm not exactly sure how old it is or how long I've had it but, let's put it this way, I don't remember ever NOT having it. This little angel closes her eyes when she is lays on her back. Not that she ever does that on the Christmas tree but you can bet I make her close her eyes at least once before she goes on the branch.

DAY 346 - December 12, 2009

Today was the GOP Families Project Christmas Shop. The Families Project is a group Doug started in an attempt to involve families in local Republican politics. So often events are held that are not always conducive to having kids attend. This means that usually one of the parents has to be home with the kids while the other attends the event or they need to find a sitter. The idea of this group is to involve everyone in the family and get younger people involved. This Christmas Shop was their first event. It was a HUGE success with 5 needy families being provided some necessities and fun for Christmas. The group raised enough money to give each family approximately $500.00 and still has some money in the account for future events. These families were SO THANKFUL and it was so nice to be a part of it. While this event was not political, each family was escorted by local politically involved individual or someone running for a local elected position.

David Taylor and his family escorted this family with 4 young boys.

This family shopped with representatives from the McAtee family. Bart McAtee is running for Marion County Sheriff.

This family shopped with David Bausman (Perry Township GOP Club President) and his wife Katie, as well as with Judge Bob Spear and his wife Kay.

City-County Councilman Mike Speedy and Mark Warner of Faulkner Strategies shopped with this family. Mike Speedy is running for the House District 90 seat

Tim and Jennifer Ping and their son Brandon shopped with this family. Tim Ping is running for the House District 90 seat.
