Talk about a game! It was really cold and a little rainy tonight for the boys' 2nd baseball game of the season. Probably not even 50 degrees but they played...
They played the Red Sox and it was quite a game. Both boys did good and got hits...their fielding is coming along as well. The game came down to the 6th inning - Little League plays only 6 innings so this was it. They were down by 3 at the top of the 6th (7-4) and they held the Red Sox not letting them score. So...when it was our turn at bat all we had to do was get 4 runs to win. Kaleb even asked me if I thought they could get enough runs to win. I didn't really know what to say to him...so I just told him to think positive and everyone would do their best. After all, that's what is important isn't it?
Well, we actually scored 3 runs and then got their 3rd out. So...they were tied and it was the end of the game. The coaches decided to go 1 more inning...we held them without letting them score at the top of the 7th and then we were up to bat. We had runners on 2nd and 3rd and had 2 outs...we pulled through with the batter getting a double so the 2 runners on bases made it across home plate. End result? We won 9-7! It was really a good game. Everyone was so excited but got out of there quick because it was still so cold. The White Sox are so far undefeated in 2009!
