Tonight Kaden and I took some time to work on my Project 365 album. You see, I wasn't able to buy the album that would have been SO MUCH easier to put together because the papers were already cut to size and perfectly matched. That album went on sale "sometime in January" was all I knew. Well, come to find out on January 2nd that it actually went on sale online on 1-1-09 at 8am. That sucker was sold out and the server the website selling it was using was locked up and shut down by 9am! I guess you could say I didn't have a chance!
So, I've decided to make my own album. I kinda like this idea anyway because I will be able to pick and choose my papers and give it more variety than the original kit had in it. It will however, consume much more time. Here Kaden and I are putting some color combinations together and making the journaling cards that will go into the album. We took some time over the weekend to cut lots of paper to the proper size and coordinate it a little. Kaden was the one responsible for using the corner rounder and rounding the corners of all the squares of paper. We both worked together on the color combinations and taping them to an index card to slip into the album.
I really don't mind making my own album. I get to have a lot of creative time with Kaden as he really enjoys doing these types of things. The boys are still interested in helping choose the picture of the day. I'm looking forward to getting a few weeks actually put together so I can get some sort of vision of what the final product will look like.
DAY 53 - February 22, 2009
Today was a special day for Kaden. He and I had a little Mommy-Son time today and he got to pick what we did. This big day came about because Kaleb had a big day of his own. He got an invitation to Daniel Stephens' 10th birthday party. They were going to an indoor arcade and laser tag place on the North Side and going in a limo to get there! Doug had to work so that left Kaden and I on our own to take advantage of a little one-on-one time.
Kaden chose getting some lunch and going to a movie as the way he wanted to spend the afternoon. He LOVES going to Ryan's. It's a cafeteria and he loves that he gets to pick his own food. He had mac and cheese (of course!), some pizza, some shredded cheese, and some ice cream with candy corn on it.
Next we headed to the dollar theater to see Tale of Despereux. It was a cute little movie about a brave little mouse. Kaden must have been very sleepy because he fell asleep about 1/2 way through. I tried to wake him up but he wasn't having it! He simply slid over a little closer and leaned up against me and went back to sleep. Whatever makes him happy is all I wanted for the day. When I woke him up he said "Is it over already?" He didn't seem upset by the fact that he missed the movie.
After the movie we headed home for a little Wii bowling. I thought I was doing pretty good but Little Bit ended up beating me by 8 points!
It was a great day and we really enjoyed our time together. We got to talk about a lot of things and just spend some time with each other.
