Tonight we stopped down to see Doug at work. He's working middle shift on light duty right now as a result of his on-duty left arm injury and resulting surgery. He's been assigned to Watch Command in the lobby of the police department. It's not a fun assignment but he'll get through it. Tonight we surprised him at work and brought him a cookie we'd made over the weekend. It's tough when he works middle shift through the week...the boys are in bed by the time he gets home from work so they don't get to see each other more than just in the morning as they're getting ready to go to school. We try to stop down to see him for a few minutes or meet him for dinner.
